Working As A Fence Installer

garden fencingThere are many reasons why people decide to have garden fencing installed whether it is for privacy, design or because of pets or children. There are many types of fence and each one is suitable for a different purpose. This is why you would be best seeking the advice of a professional to advise you on which would be best suited to your needs.

Here are some examples of the different types of fence and the different purposes each one would be suitable for;

Close panel fencing – This type of fencing is normal more expensive than other kinds but is often more durable and is more effective for uses such as keeping pets and children in. They can sometimes be quite difficult to assemble as you need to nail through the cross timbers that are securing the panels into place and they need to be placed accurately other wise it could impair the strength of the fence or could cause it to look uneven. When the closed fencing has been erected it is the most secure form of fencing available and lasts for a very long time.

Picket fencing – This kind of fencing is more often used for decorative purposes and consists of timber lengths that are usually short enough to see over, have gaps between slats so there is a partial visual through and they traditionally have pointed tops. They are now available either in the traditional wooden ones that require slight maintenance or plastic versions that have more recently become fairly popular. The maintenance needed on wooden picket fences is just things such as re-painting and weather proofing.

panel fencingPost and rail fencing – This type of fencing provides more of a physical boundary rather than a visual one. It usually consists of posts standing a distance apart with a rail joining them along the top and with netting fastened from the posts so not to cause any visual restriction. These are commonly used in farm environments because they work perfectly as they provide a visual on the animals, keeps the live stock in and keeps any other animals and children out.

Lattice – It is a popular decorative type of fencing as it offers little privacy and is not very secure. One of the main uses of this kind of fencing is to grow plants such as ivy on. This is usually made of rustic style woods but is often painted to match the colour scheme of the house.

Once you have decided on a certain type of fencing then all that is left to do is have it installed, if you have it professionally installed then it will be correctly fitted and because it has been fitted by a professional it is likely to last longer.
